APRIL 2025 SHOW AND SHARE

Our April Show and Share featured more beautiful garments in luscious fibers. Your next chance to show in person is May 6 (save time and download a Show and Share form in advance). If you can’t attend the May meeting, you may submit photos and project details via email to the Webmaster. As always, instructions for submitting your photos for posting are at the bottom of this page. A complete list and links to past Guild Photo Galleries can be found on the drop-down menu under the Guild Info tab.

Click on any photo in a gallery to start a slide show and view larger versions of photos.

Sue Tavaglione knit two Norah Gaughan patterns in Berroco Suede yarn.

Her 70’s Suede Jacket was knit bottom-up, picking up stitches for fronts/back followed by neck stitches and BO. Sleeves are knit separately and added.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
She had enough left to knit Boot Spats for her grand-daughter, who (at age 7) is a rider. Laces in the back allow for growing sizes!

Rosemary Shearer made Elenor Mortenson’s Lorien pullover from Sweet Georgia wool/silk/mohair yumminess. She says this designer has the best-fitting top-down yoke garments.

Sheila Kirschenbaum made Cocoknits’ Molly pullover using Zen Yarn Garden Serenity Silk + (a merino/cashmere/silk blend).
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
She marled 3 Luxcakes, changing yarns every row, holding two strands together to create worsted weight.

Mary Barranger’s pullover is MacGowan by Quenna Lee. It’s in Malabrigo; Mary says the cable design took awhile to “get the hang of” but was well worth it!
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Theresa Kotanchek test-knit Cecelia Campochiaro’s Turtle Track in Qiviut Royal Blend (qiviut and silk). She enlarged the scarf pattern to an “ethereal” wrap size that she calls “pure bliss.”

Theresa Kotanchek knit the Traveler Shell vest by Andrea Mowry holding together La Bien Aimee Kumo (suri) and Felix (wool). She plans to add pockets after re-knitting one that got sun-faded during the work process.

Linda Berger knit La Bella Firenza shawl designed by Alina Appasova
Linda Berger knit this La Bella Firenza shawl (designed by Alina Appasova) using a Miss Babs kit purchased at last year’s Pomona Fiber Fest. She modified the design slightly by adding a block of brick red in the center.
Linda Berger Arwen By Jennifer Wood
Linda also worked the Anwen shawl designed by Jennifer Wood. She seelcted Myak Tibetan Cloud yarn.
Lisa Delucchi Barker Wool Self Design
Lisa Delucchi designed this lovely shawl using Barker Wool with Aster stitch pooling motif. She was inspired by a Dawn Barker workshop on 2-color mosaic / pooling that featured Dawn’s “Nona’s Waltz” shawl, but chose to apply the techniques in her own unique way.

How to Submit Your Photos: Photos can be submitted via email attachments to the Webmaster. For clarity, image file sizes should be greater than 500 kb. Keep in mind when you take your photos that projects show up best against solid contrasting backgrounds. Include in your email a description of your project, pattern and designer name, yarn used, how you came to knit your project, and any other information you wish viewers to know. Be sure to include your name in your email! Tip — no need to complete a Show and Share form for virtual postings — just put your project information in the body of your email.

* Did you know? If you have the option, take your photos with your phone. Smart phones have much better cameras than iPads or tablets and are as good if not better than many digital cameras! You can email photos directly from your phone, no need to download first — just include your project information in the body of your email.

There is no set deadline for submissions; photos are posted according to the month they are received. Projects received by the 4th Monday of the month will appear in the next month’s News Blast.
