Comments from Guest Speakers on the Guild’s 25th Anniversary
Sally Melville
Wow, congratulations to you all for 25 years of supporting each other! Yes, I remember with great fondness my 4 teaching trips to your guild. I remember great and dedicated knitters, I remember being welcomed by you all, and I remember friends I made. I am happily retired, but I do miss those times when we all got together. Thanks for the memories, and I wish you many more years ahead.

I have a fond place in my heart for the San Diego North Coast Knitters Guild. I was there many years ago and returned 2 or 3 years ago. I’d already known many of the members such as Colleen Davis and Creusa Gilmore, etc. And who wouldn’t jump at the chance to be in San Diego, one of my fave US cities? The group is so talented and enthusiastic and friendly & I have nothing but lovely things to say about the guild. Thanks for having me. Happy New Year.

I wanted to take a moment to thank the San Diego North Coast Knitting Guild for all the support the members and staff showed me throughout my knitting designer career from the very beginning! Every person I met through the guild was a huge inspiration for me. We have such talented creators amongst us that I just hope to achieve their level of craftsmanship one day. Your encouragement means the world to me! I always appreciate your ability to see how my work can make a difference, and you’ve made me a believer too! I feel more confident and capable, and for that, I will always be grateful.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit as a speaker and teacher in 2018. Such a friendly and enthusiastic group and they gave me the red carpet treatment! Here’s to the next 25 years!

I loved my visit to the San Diego Knitters Guild. I remember standing in front of everyone sharing all my shawls while everyone was so engaged and inspired. It was such a gratifying time to exchange inspiration and see the parade of gorgeous designs that everyone was wearing!

The San Diego North Coast Guild is a wonderful, lively group of knitters. I always look forward to my visits to teach workshops. See you in February, 2022!

I’ve always enjoyed presenting to your guild. The energy there is inspiring, and it has been a pleasure to interact with both lectures and workshops. I know various members and have gotten to know more people as the years progressed. It would be my honor to someday soon, to be an active member of the guild, so I could partake in your great programs and activities. Congratulations on all the guild does and how it keeps knitting at the forefront!

It was such an honor and joy to present for the San Diego Knitting Guild. They are such a vibrant and welcoming group! I was blown away by the sheer number of enthusiastic participants at the presentation and loved teaching the more intimate classes. They are a group to be cherished!

Some kind words about your fabulous guild: What a brilliant guild you have! I wish you were all in the Bay Area so I could be a member myself. I still remember fondly my in-person trip to the guild which included a wonderful walk in a botanic garden, a visit to the glorious beach, a lovely private cottage, and even better, so many wonderful and rich conversations with many of you. You get to knit in paradise and in community – your only lack is for cold weather to better enjoy wool. Congratulations on your 25th – may there be many more anniversaries!

The San Diego Knitting Guild is among the most welcoming, curious, inspiring groups I have had the pleasure to meet. Full of positivity and hospitality, it’s a treat to get to spend time with your members.

Congratulations on your 25th anniversary! I am grateful to have been able to visit you, meet your terrific members and share some time together. During this pandemic, it has brought home how much we need community. Celebrate your history and look forward to new adventures together!
Mary Annarella, Lyrical Knits

I had the joy and privilege of teaching a few virtual classes for the SDNCKGuild, and a lovely bunch of knitters they are! Perhaps we can all meet face to face and knit together after the pandemic.”

Asa Tricosa (arrived too late to be included in the program)
Is it too late to sing the praises of the San Diego Guild knitters? I would like to sing such praises. It was a complete pleasure to speak with you across land and sea – and pandemic clouds. I’m so glad to have been part of your programme — connecting with knitters is what inspires me as a designer and as a knitter. It gladdens my knitterly heart to know that your Guild is knitting away and keeping our craft alive and humming (clicking…)
All good wishes and happy anniversary!
