In Case You Missed It — MARCH 3, 2026 ROMI HILL VISITED THE GUILD

Romi Hill

Romi Hill – Lace Inspirations and Designs

Romi Hill hails from Northern Nevada and is known for her lace designs and very popular mystery Knitalongs.

Her presentation, “Lace Inspirations and Designs,” gave the audience a glimpse of how she interprets her everyday surroundings as patterns she then translates into lace motifs.

Romi grew up in a crafting environment where her mother crocheted baby blankets for all. Her mother and grandmother did not use written patterns for their creations. At age 9, she insisted on also learning to knit, feeling knitting was neater and tidier than crochet. She’s continuing the family crafting legacy as both her sons have learned to knit. Her youngest prefers to spin and is often her model.

Guild members eagerly inspected Romi’s sample projects.

Romi creates her mystery Knitalongs with Kristen Vejar, a May 2025 Guild speaker. She showed us those 13 completed projects and talked about her creative process including her working out the kinks to make those knitalongs more enjoyable for the participants who eagerly await the release of the next one.

Sign up for her newsletter at designsbyromi.com to keep up with her latest designs.
