April presentation – Last month, Kim McBrien Evans delivered an insightful presentation on Size Inclusivity and The Maker, filled with meaningful information and valuable perspectives. Guild members participate in nationwide Knit-a-thon – Tania Marshall reports that she and other knitters attended an amazing gathering at Peggy Reddler’s home on April 5, 2025 to support the 5th annual Knit for Food Knit-a-thon. This 12-hour event raises funds and awareness for food insecurity. The four-person Carlsbad team, led by Sue Kristiansen, raised more than $4,400 contributing to the nationwide total of $530,000!
Doing business at Guild meetings – Please plan to do all your business (Membership, Programs, Philanthropy, etc.) before or after the formal Guild meeting, which starts at 12:30 p.m. and ends when Show and Share is complete. All stations will be closed during the meeting itself, both in deference to our speakers and to allow Guild volunteers to enjoy the program. Volunteers will have saved seats in the audience. We hope you understand and respect this policy.
Membership – Please check here for the latest Membership news. If you have not paid for your 2025 membership, the quickest and easiest way to do so is online. If you wish to renew in person, please print and complete a Membership Form and bring it with you to the May 6 meeting.

You can also submit photos of your projects for our Virtual Show and Share gallery. Instructions for submitting are at the bottom of all Show and Share pages. Ravelry – Check out our Ravelry SDNCKG group page where you can find special announcements not available on the Guild website and a link to the Guild’s library on Ravelry. Members can post questions and provide information about non-Guild events (the forum is moderated and inappropriate posts may be edited or removed).
Instagram – The Guild has a social media account on Instagram. Expect to find announcements, reminders, workshop news, and more. If you have an Instagram account, scan the QR code to the right and click the follow button – or search for SanDiegoKnitters while in Instagram.
Guild Library – The Guild has an extensive library full of knitting and crochet pattern books and related resources. It’s easy to check out books and pick them up (and later return them) at in-person Guild meetings. Details here.
