About DAWN BARKER
We are excited to have Dawn Barker visit our Guild to present My Journey Into Assigned Pooling and offer a Barker Wool Trunk Show!
Dawn’s journey started when she was asked to teach a class on the best ways to use hand-painted, multi-colored yarns. At that time, she decided to teach ways to minimize the effects of organic pooling that typically occur when knitting with variegated skeins. She compiled all of the tips and tricks she had collected through the years on ways to disguise organic pooling, completed the course, and sat back with a sense of accomplishment. Pooling managed.
Then a voice inside her head asked an interesting question. “Now that I understand how pooling works and why it happens, what if I could make it a feature instead of seeing it as a problem to be managed?” After many hours of research, trial, and error of exploring the dynamics of color pooling and textured stitches, Assigned Pooling was born.
Join us on March 4 to learn more Dawn Barker’s visually stunning knitting journey.
