2024-08 Summer Retreat report
Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver, the other gold. Fifteen Guild Members gathered at the Viña de Lestonnac Retreat Center in Temecula August 12-15 to share knitting and stories and conversation.
We played “Bingo for Knitters” as an ice breaker activity. Prizes were claimed by a few, but everyone was a winner when we all learned a little more about our gold and our silver friends. Maker Project Classes every afternoon introduced us to new projects. Stacy Mann demonstrated how to make crocheted flowers brooches. Donna Mulcahy taught us how to make Christmas Ball Ornaments and miniature Christmas stockings. Virginia Wilson brought her caterpillars, which over the days and nights in Temecula, entered their chrysalis and finally emerged as adult Monarch butterflies. We ended our time in Temecula a collection of Gold Friends.
Join us at our Guild’s January 20-23, 2025 Winter Retreat. Registration begins October 1 and ends November 30. Watch for announcements in the September and October News Blast.
