The Guild is Participating in the 2023 San Diego County Fair!
Updated 5/22/23
Thanks to all who volunteered, the sign-up for our Fair Day, Saturday, June 10, 2023 is now closed.
Thanks to some last minute action on the part of Guild Co-President, Renate Kamm, the Guild will be participating in this years San Diego County Fair. The Guild will award five prizes this year: two $50 awards and two memberships to the Guild, and a $50 prize for a youth entry.
Additionally, we will demonstrate knitting on June 10th – which also happens to be Worldwide Knit in Public day – a great day to showcase knitting! However, to make this happen we need volunteers to cover two shifts from 12-3 and 4-7 in the Make and Take area near the Home Made display section of the Exhibit Hall. Note: Sign-up for volunteering is now closed.
For each volunteer, the Fair will provide us with two fair tickets and free parking at the Horse Park. All volunteers need to do is bring your knitting, big smiles, and a commitment to stay during a shift. While at the fair, you can view items Guild members have submitted for this year’s needlecraft competition and which submissions have won awards. Note: Sign-up for volunteering is now closed.
The Fair theme this year is Get Out There in the great outdoors with Kings National Park as the chosen park. So, Get Out There and plan on joining Tania and Renate in showcasing knitting on this very special Knit in Public day at the San Diego County Fair! Choose either of the two time slots available, or both and let us know no later than Monday, May 22nd. Note: Sign-up for volunteering is now closed.
