Our May 2nd Speaker will be Assia Brill via Zoom
A passionate knitter for many years, Assia loves creating new stitch patterns and finding solutions to knitting challenges. She has developed a number of new knitting techniques.
Her book Distitch – a new knitting concept is an encyclopaedia of this new principle of knitting and crocheting, which she invented in 2012. The book is all Assia’s work – texts, drawings, photographs, videos, patterns, and layout.
Her website assiabrill.com reveals her newest inventions and techniques, all of which aim to improve the knitting process – and to make it pure joy. Assia has patterns on Ravelry. Her Ravelry ID is assiabrill and you can find her patterns here.
Her other passion is origami and creating new designs. One example of her work is the extraordinary kinetic origami Curlicue.
Born in Russia, a graduate aircraft engineer, she now lives with her husband in rural Cheshire, UK.
