PHOTO GALLERY FROM THE APRIL GUILD MEETING
Tania Marshall shared her two hats – ‘Monarchs of the Central Coast’ and ‘California Poppies’. Both patterns were designed by Nancy Bates and can be found in her new ‘California Road Trip Collection,’ currently available only on her website. Both patterns had lots of duplicate stitches. Tania knit these using stash yarn, mostly fingering weight with two strands held together.
Sandy Yayanos shared her Color Explosion Throw, designed by Cecelia Campochiaro. Knit using multiple colors of Rowan Felted Tweed with two different colored strands held together for a marled effect. Yarn and pattern were from a kit Sandy won at the 2022 holiday Opportunity Drawing. Sandy added a crochet crab stitch around the edges to give it a little body.
Mary Brown modeled a cardigan she designed using fingering weight wool yarns in blues and browns. Mary designed this sweater to go with denim

Donna Mulcahy modeled her turquoise summer tee, ‘Shana’ designed by Hanna Maciejewska. The pattern did not have sleeves so Donna added them using short rows. ‘The pattern was very clear and well-written, especially for short-row novices (like me!)’ Donna used a 100% cotton DK weight yarn ‘Raps’ from Vendome
Nathine Nelson modeled her ‘Dali Collared Scarf’ which she wears as a cape. Designed by Jenny Watson, Nathine knit this in Knitter Fever Painted Dessert, a fingering weight superwash wool. She used #7 needles for the main part of the cape and #5 needles for the ribbing to get better drape.

Nathine Nelson modeled her ‘Starflake Shawl’ designed by Stephen West, knit using Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in Moonstone and Antler colors

Nathine Nelson modeled her wrap/caplet, knit using Jody Long’s Carnation Scarf pattern. Nathine knit her cape in Jody Long’s ‘My Little Sunshine’ sport weight cotton and acrylic yarn, in two shades of red and orange.

VIRTUAL SHOW AND SHARE PHOTOS SUBMITTED IN April
Colleen Davis ‘Crumbs’ Vest. ‘Here’s my April garment named Crumbs. I got out my bags of yarn crumbs and made a simple vest.’

Photos can be submitted either via text message or email to Kerry Nare. (Kerry’s phone number and direct email address can be found in the Guild Directory.)  Image file sizes should be as large as possible for clarity (ideally greater than 500 kb please). Keep in mind when you take your photos, that projects show up best against solid backgrounds. Include a description of your project, pattern and designer name, yarn used, how you came to knit your project, and any other information you wish viewers to know, and when texting be sure to include your name!

* Did you know? Smart phones have much better cameras than iPads or tablets, so if you have a choice, take your photos with your phone. You can text photos directly from your phone, no need to download first.

While there is no set deadline for submissions, please submit your projects by the 4th Monday of the month to ensure it is posted before the next News Blast goes out. Photos are posted according to the month they are received.
