Minutes of the General Meeting

Meeting held on Zoom
President Tania Marshall called the meeting to order at 1:01 PM. She welcomed all participants and introduced Nancy Lerer, Program Co-Chair.
Nancy Lerer introduced Ana Campos, our guest speaker. Ana’s presentation was on the architecture of knitting design.
At 2:10 PM President Tania Marshall began the business meeting.
Tania Marshall, President: The Interfaith Community Services of Carlsbad will be holding a Mental Health Fest on September 10 from 11-4. Participants will be taught to knit. Volunteers are needed to assist Tania in this worthwhile project.
Sydnie Wauson, Vice President. Our Holiday Luncheon will be held at Morgan Run on December 5th. Members are encouraged to participate in the Fashion Show, donate items to the opportunity drawing, and reserve tables in advance. The sound system is expected to be upgraded from last year.
Nancy Lerer, Program Committee: Our first in-person meeting will be on September 6 at 12:30 PM at the Encinitas Community Center, Banquet Room B. Guild member Stacy Mann will present a program called A History of Spinning. Members are encouraged to carpool and are invited to bring finished objects for Show and Share. In November our guest speaker will be Norah Gaughan.
Donna Mulcahy, Librarian: There are still missing items from our library. Members wishing to borrow books can search the Guild website under Member Resources – Guild Lending Library, or the SDNCKG page on Ravelry for a complete listing of our collection. Those that wish to borrow a book should contact Donna directly and she will bring them to our in-person meetings.
Debby Vacek, Philanthropy: Debbie will be collecting charitable donations outside the Solana Beach Library on Tuesday, August 16th from 11:30 to 12:30. Note the time change.
Tania Marshall aadjourned the meeting at 2:29 PM.
