August Philanthropy News

Debbie Vacek waiting for donations!

It was very nice to collect some beautiful knitted items for donation at the Guild event in San Marcos last month. It was great to meet and chat with knitters. I was also able to distribute yarn for knitters doing charitable knitting.

In August, I will be at the Solana Beach Library on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm – location details can be found here. I’ll be outside in the lower parking lot for you to drop off completed items and pick up free yarn and patterns.

Please bring knitted items for me to donate to various organizations: 1) hats of all sizes, mostly child, teen and adult, 2) scarves, 3) baby and lap blankets. Please attach only a SDNCKG Guild hang tag, available on the drop down menu under Philanthropy, or by clicking here.

Individual members and local groups: please keep an estimated record of what you donate (in 2022) and the recipient organization(s). I will send out a request to our SDNCKG members in Fall 2022 so those items can be included in an accounting of this important mission at the end of the year.

Questions? I can be reached at philanthropyATsandiegoknitterDOTcom or using my information in the Guild directory. Ideas and suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you,
Debbie Vacek, Philanthropy Coordinator
