More Podcasts for Knitters!

Podcast News from Nancy Nevin!

In early 2021 as we were all hunkering down and isolating, searching for entertainment or diversion, knitting entertainment was a bonus. That is when I shared with all of you my favorite Blog to enjoy on-line called Fruity Knitting. The blog was photographed and produced by Andrew and Andrea Doig, originally from Australian who had relocated to Germany. Andrea’s knitting expertise offered a wealth of techniques and progress of her favorite projects while Andrew attempted to learn from her with some amusing stories. The Fruity Knitting archive contained over 100 previous blogs offering interviews with notable knitting designers and wool producers.

Along the way we learned of Andrew’s fight with cancer and we also were introduced to their charming daughter, Madeleine. Andrew succumbed to his disease in 2021 and Madeleine took up residence in Germany with her mother; a whole family saga unfolded last year and their blog posts stopped for a while. But their current blogposts have returned and are now Andrea’s business (voluntarily supported by viewers through their Patron site). She recently travelled to the U.K. with Madeline to interview several notable British designers and other interesting knitting personnel. Episodes 116 and 117 offer an extensive two part interview with Kaffe Fassett that you won’t want to miss.  Let me know how you like them.

Fruity Knitters can be found here.
