Stash Sale Report.
A huge THANK YOU for making appointments, attending and shopping the Stash Sale. I can’t believe we surpassed what was made last year, but this year’s sale brought in $4,979, an increase of $254 over last year!! Your generous support of the Stash Sale allows the Guild to continue to provide the wonderful programs and guest speakers we enjoy each month!
I would also like to thank everyone for your generous donations that allowed for such a successful Stash Sale during this crazy year. I cannot thank the volunteers enough for the massive amount of help they provided sorting, bagging, looking up prices, assisting with set-up/clean-up and the amazing cashiers/cashier helpers! And a big shout-out to Laura Brubaker for her donation of the table rentals, which made this year’s stash sale feasible.
In addition to the Guild’s philanthropy efforts, yarn and needles were provided to the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center so they can knit warm items for the homeless. Yarn and needles were also provided to the Little Italy group that wants to learn to knit. Leftover yarn that was not saved for next year was donated to the charity knitting program at Seacrest Senior Village, Oceana Senior Community for their knitting program, and the Community Resource Center.A special thank you to Sydnie Wauson and Virginia Newton for overseeing distribution to the worthy causes in our community.
2020 Stash Sale Fun Facts: 910 lbs (NINE HUNDRED AND TEN pounds!) of yarn was collected this year (up 365 lbs from last year). That’s equal to 8,255 50-gram balls or 4,128 100-gram skeins! The categories with the largest amount collected was worsted/aran and partials/leftovers (the same categories as last year). I think more than a few cleaned out their stash during our stay at home time!
