Philanthropy News for December

November 21, 2020

Philanthropy.

Philanthropy Hats And Misc
Philanthropy Blankets And Squares Awaiting Assembly

The beautiful knitted items you all recently donated have been or will be delivered to various organizations over the next two weeks. Many, many blankets have been made with your squares, skillfully assembled by Carol Myers and sent to Project Linus. Over 50 children’s hats went to the Emilio Nares Foundation and to an organization in Vista that provides daycare for disabled children of all ages. Baby items went to Bundles 4 Babies. Adult hats (30), scarves (50), and miscellaneous clothing items went to Handmade with Love, an organization that ships to shelters for homeless families or victims of abuse.

Thank you so very much for all you have done during the time I have worked with Philanthropy, which I consider an important part of our Guild. Debbie Vacek will be taking over as Philanthropy Chair starting in January, 2021. I know she will appreciate your ideas for future projects and recipients, and I hope you will communicate your ideas to her. She is in the directory or can be reached starting January at Philanthropy@SanDiegoKnitters.com.

Happy Holidays and Stay safe.
