Stash Sale Results!

THANK YOU for shopping your hearts out ladies; this year’s Stash Sale made $4,725!! Your generous support of the Stash Sale allows the Guild to continue to provide the wonderful programs and guest speakers each month, contributes to opportunity drawings at the Holiday Luncheon and helps keep our annual membership dues low! I would like to thank everyone for your generous donations that allowed for such a successful Stash Sale. I cannot thank the volunteers enough for the massive amount of help they provided sorting, bagging, looking up prices, assisting with set-up and clean-up, transporting and hauling!

In addition to the Guild’s philanthropy efforts, the leftover yarn was donated to the following causes: Emilio Nares Foundation for the knitting program they run at Rady Children’s Hospital; Women’s Woven Voices empowering women through writing, weaving and sharing; Braille Institute for knitting classes; and straight needles to knitting programs in impoverished areas of Guatemala and El Salvador through Margret Merlock. A special thank you to Sheila Kirschenbaum for overseeing distribution to the worthy causes in our community.
2019 Stash Sale Fun Facts: 545 lbs of yarn collected this year (up 45 lbs from last year), that’s equal to 4,944 50-gram balls or 2,472 100-gram balls! The yarn category with the largest amount collected was worsted/aran followed by partials/leftovers! Approximately 80 bags were filled and sold of “By the Bag” yarn.
