2025 San Diego County Fair
The San Diego County Fair for 2025 has just revealed its theme, SUMMER PET-TACULAR, celebrating all pets. The Fair runs from June 11 to July 6.
Now is the time to start your Fair submissions for the Knitting display in the Home Made area. Pet garments, costumes, and pet-themed human knitwear can be fun and colorful projects. But any of your masterpieces, regardless of theme, are also encouraged. Your craft items must be completed by May 2025 to be eligible for awards. Our Guild sponsors several monetary awards that can be yours in addition to bragging rights. Each entry also gets you free admission to the fair.
We are in need of a Guild Fair Coordinator. Tasks include judging entries for Guild awards and organizing volunteers for two Saturdays. On those days, the Guild has an area in the Make and Take section of the Home Made exhibit where we have people try their hand at knitting a few stitches. We also talk about our Guild’s mission and monthly programs.
The commitment is only for two Saturdays and judging entries prior to the Fair to determine the Guild awardees. The Fair is a wonderful way to meet crafters and enjoy all the food, activities, and atmosphere of this signature San Diego event. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Renate Kamm or Tania Marshall.
