PHILANTHROPY UPDATE FOR JUNE
Thanks for continuing to craft for others. It is very special to see all your fine efforts dropped off at the Philanthropy table, or mailed or dropped off to me. I can definitely feel the love that went into your efforts for others.
As we get ready for the new and improved website, we are updating the Philanthropy area as well. One key feature is to only list patterns that follow copyright laws. I have written two patterns which are on the Philanthropy page, so there is no copyright issue here. If you have written a pattern and are willing to share it for Philanthropy, we are happy to make it available here. Otherwise, feel free to use any patterns of your own choosing (including those from Ravelry).
Members sometimes begin a project at a Guild workshop, create a clean and usable item, but decide the color or size is not to their liking. These are perfect as we have many neighbors in need who would appreciate your work. Other members, while going through dressers or closets, find items they do not use anymore. These are also excellent donations (once washed for the next recipient).
Remember — all fibers are welcome. Some nonprofits prefer 100% wool, others want machine-washable only. A Guild label and care instructions are always provided with each item.
Thank you for caring and helping others.
