PHILANTHROPY UPDATE FOR MAY
Thanks for continuing to craft for others. While it is not yet time for winter hats and scarves, it will be here before you know it when we are asked for hundreds of warm items for our neighbors in need.
If you are supporting a local group doing charitable work that is in need of yarn, please let me know so you can receive some unsold fiber left at the end of the Stash Sale on June 2. Those on the approved list need to know we will be checking in with you later regarding to whom and how much was provided to charity. The Guild is very supportive, and out of respect for their
generosity, we need to be accountable as well. Last year was a banner year with 1,536 items provided to charity!

Right now, locally the Soap Sacks made of cotton and/or bamboo are very appreciated. These are 4” x 6” “sacks” closed on three sides with a loop or tie, made to hold a full wrapped bar of soap for our underhoused neighbors. Whether knitted or crocheted, they can be used as a wash cloth, or for storing the soap. Go to soapsacks.com for more information.
Remember — all fibers are welcome. We are just looking for items that are clean and serviceable. Some members are contributing lovely scarves and sweaters that have been sitting in their drawers. They are all appreciated by our community members. Care instructions are always provided with each item.
Thank you for caring and helping others.
