PHILANTHROPY UPDATE FOR APRIL
As the weather is turning to Spring, and then Summer, you may have taken on new projects. I know I have continued to craft hats and scarves, to build up a supply for colder months when they will be in demand.

Right now, locally Soap Sacks made of cotton and/or bamboo are very appreciated. These are 4” x 6” “sacks” closed on three sides, with a loop or tie at the open side, made to hold a full wrapped bar of soap for our underhoused neighbors. Whether knitted or crocheted, they can be used as a wash cloth or for storing the soap. One of our members was delighted to find a good use for her worsted weight cotton yarn. Go to www.soapsacks.com for more information.
If you are supporting a local group doing charitable work that is in need of yarn, arrangements can be made to include them in fiber left at the end of the Stash Sale which is provided for philanthropic purposes. Please be aware:
- You need to be on a list of those approved to collect leftovers (ask at the Philanthropy table or email me to be added).
- We will check in with you later as to whom and how much was provided to charity. The Guild is very supportive and, out of respect for this generosity, we need to be accountable as well.
Feel free to stop by the Philanthropy table and see what we are up to — and perhaps get inspired or take a pattern. It is fun to see what others have contributed.
Remember – all fibers are welcome. We are just looking for items that are clean and serviceable. Care instructions are provided with each item. It helps if you let me know so I can properly label your gift.
Thank you for caring and helping others.
