MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!
The first “official” philanthropy knitting event of 2020 will be Wednesday, February 19, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Panera in San Marcos (in the shopping center at the corner of Grand Avenue and San Marcos Blvd., across the parking lot from Hobby Lobby and Winco) – check here for location details and a map. If you haven’t joined us before, we would love to have any or all of you. We have different ladies every time, so please don’t hesitate to join us. We are not an exclusive group! It’s a good way to meet members of the Guild you may not have had a chance to meet before. I provide a selection of Panera pastries, as well as (most importantly,) yarn and patterns from which you may choose your next philanthropy project. Or, if you are already working on something, feel free to bring it with you.
We are continuing our “squares” project for making blankets – either colorful for children, or in the red, white and blue for Veterans. But we also love the scarves, hats and baby items you make, so you have pretty much total freedom.
Just FYI – Arlene Shaposhnik is helping out with philanthropy this year. She directs a lovely group of ladies from Seacrest Retirement Community who love to knit and who have provided us with probably hundreds of scarves and hats over the years. Arlene has volunteered to see that these get to the appropriate charities.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if you have suggestions of other locations and days you would prefer for our philanthropy events.
FINALLY, if you can join us on February 19, please let me know so I can save the appropriate number of seats at Panera. Thank you
