Details regarding project photos
Photos (2): Betty Kemper – Hat, modeled by friend Emily.
Pattern – Stones on the Beach, designed by Jennifer Knight. Knit in unknown stash yarn.
Photos (2): Carol Myers – stranded hat.
Lucerne hat in Peerie yarn. Pattern and yarn by Brooklyn Tweed; began at the retreat, finished afterwards
Photo (1): Renata Kamm – shawl border
Renata Kamm almost finished her long short-row border for the Westfjords Wanderer shawl, pattern by Stephen West
Photos (2) Tania Marshall – Pullover
Tania wore this at the January Zoom Meeting – she had planned to model in the Holiday Luncheon Fashion Show before she realized there was a conflict with travel plans. She really wanted to be there. “Here is my Dissent Pullover by Andrea Rangel. I used Malabrigo Sock yarn and made it tunic length to wear with leggings. I incorporated the hem taught to us by Asa Tricosa and the locked floats method for colorwork by Kyle Kunneke.”
Photos (3) Colleen Davis – 3 toppers
Garment 1 is a cropped topper modeled at the fashion show this month. I used a Kaffe Fassett floral intarsia design combining coral, blue, green, lavender and yellow.
Garment 2 was also modeled at the fashion show. It is a Stephen West design called Armored. I used different turquoise yarns for the color blocks and different black yarns for the tucks. It’s knit on circular needles starting with the sleeves.
Garment 3 – This topper was modeled in the fashion show. It was knit side-to-side with uneven hemline so inserts could be added later. Inserts are soft mitered rectangles.
How to submit your photos
Photos can be submitted either via text message (preferred) or email to Kerry Nare. (Kerry’s phone number and direct email address can be found in the Guild Directory.) Image file sizes should be as large as possible for clarity (ideally greater than 500 kb please). Keep in mind that projects show up best against solid backgrounds. Include a description of your project, pattern and designer name, yarn used, how you came to knit your project, and any other information you wish viewers to know, and when texting be sure to include your name!
* Did you know? Smart phones have much better cameras than iPads or tablets, so if you have a choice, take your photos with your phone. You can text photos directly from your phone, no need to download first.
While there is no set deadline for submissions, please submit your projects by the 4th Monday of the month to ensure it is posted before the next News Blast goes out.
