may Retreat in Rancho Palos Verde
Our spring Retreat will take place at the beautiful Mary and Joseph Retreat Center in Rancho Palos Verde. The grounds are lovely, the views are wonderful, and there’s hiking on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, with trail heads within walking distance. There are three yarn shops within a six mile radius, AND it’s about a two hour drive from the San Diego area! Of course, it will take longer than that if you stop at any of the 21 yarn stores on the route.
The retreat begins with lunch on Monday, continues through breakfast on Thursday with three full meals on Tuesday and Wednesday. There’s a communal dining room with some tables outside in addition to those indoors. Costs for three nights and nine meals are $520 per person (single room) and $400 per person (double room). Each room has its own bathroom.
There’s a new option for those members who live nearby and would like to join us. The daily commuter rate allows you to join the group for meals and all daily activities, i.e., knitting, but no sleeping accommodation are provided. There’s a daily flat rate of $25 per person plus the cost of meals ($10 breakfast, $16 lunch, and $21 dinner).
Reserve your spot with a non-refundable deposit beginning at the February meeting. Or send your deposit check (payable to SDNCKG) to Retreat Coordinator June Bartczak. A deposit of $100 per person will hold a double room reservation (you need to have a roommate); a $150 deposit will hold a single room reservation. Full payment is due by the May 2017 Guild meeting. Daily Commuter fees need to be paid in full before the May 2017 meeting.
