Brioche 101: 2-Color Brioche Knitting
If you are new to Brioche or need a total refresher, start with the basics and build confidence from there! Learn what to watch for and get a feel for “Brioche Anatomy” before casting on.
In this class Simone will teach you the basics of 2-color Brioche knitting worked flat. She will show how the brioche knit and brioche purl stitches work, how to read a brioche pattern, how to count stitches and rows as well as how to measure gauge. With an included scarf pattern, Simone will guide you through the ins and outs of the pattern. She will show the different options for the scarf, length, optional button band and how to sew on buttons.
Level of Experience: Great class for both new and beginner brioche knitters.
Skills Needed: Participants should know how to knit, purl, cast on and bind off, and read from a pattern. No previous Brioche experience is necessary!
Materials to Bring to Class: 2 balls of smooth yarn in solid, contrasting colors, sport weight or worsted weight. Appropriately sized needles for your weight of yarn. General knitting notions (such as darning needle and scissors, etc.
Cost: $30 for members ($65 for non-members which includes Guild membership through 2019)
