Baby Surprise Jacket Confidence-Builder

If ever a pattern has stood the test of time, this Elizabeth Zimmerman pattern is it.  It’s been a real people pleaser since 1968! In class we will overcome the issues knitters have with the pattern, leaping over the hurdles so we can knit it in the spirit EZ intended.  Instructor has a very useful method of keeping track of where you are and helps students to understand the project.  At the end of class we cast on for the real thing, setting you up for success finishing at home. Many of us have not yet knitted the Baby Surprise, or mastered it. This is another great class for the money.

Important Note:  This workshop takes place at the Holiday Inn Express in Cardiff.

Level of Experience:  All levels welcome.

Homework:  Make a 4 to 6 inch square gauge swatch in garter stitch, all rows worked in knit stitch, to be certain you achieve intended gauge with yarn selected. Bring swatch to class along with the needles and extra yarn.

Materials:  Bring yarn, needles and your swatch. Each attendee will need to purchase their own Baby Surprise Jacket pattern in advance of the workshop.  It can be any version of the pattern, whether  from the book Knitting Workshop or the old single sheet copy of the BSJ pattern, or the new A-B-C SJ (Adult- Baby- Child) pattern. The pattern is available for purchase through Schoolhouse Press.
