Faina Goberstein Workshop 1

The Art of Professional Finishing

All parts of a sweater are done. What’s next? Learn how to make your project even more beautiful with correct finishing steps. Faina will teach a variety of methods for blocking, seaming, picking up stitches for necklines, button bands and other edges, bind offs, collar shaping and much more. If you do it right, you will love your sweater.

Level of Experience:  Intermediate

Homework: With worsted-weight solid-color yarn make four swatches as follows:

CO 30 sts, Row 1: Sl1 wyf, purl to last st, k1. Row 2: Sl1 wyf, knit to end. Repeat these 2 rows until swatch measures about 3”/7.5 cm. Bind off all sts loosely

Materials:  Homework swatches, yarn, suitable sized circular and double-pointed needles, tapestry needle, crochet hook, safety pins and markers.

Materials fee:  None

Cost:  $30 (members) or $55 (non-members) which includes a one-time annual membership fee of $25.

How to Register:  Sign up at the May Guild meeting or send an email to Programs@SanDiegoKnitters.com stating the workshop name, your name, email address and a telephone number. Payment is due prior to the start of June Guild meeting. Pay by cash or check. Checks can be mailed directly to our Treasurer.
