Other Items of Interest:
Podcasts to Knit To – Read Nancy Nevin’s new article regarding podcasts. Her original post What is Your Favorite Knitting Podcast? is still available.
Speaking of Podcasts – Eileen Adler just shared this with me – Fiber Hooligan. It’s been on hiatus for five years, and now Benjamin Levisay (head of XRX) is back with a number of interesting fiber-related interviews. The older ones may be available.
Visions Art Museum – Visions is a great quilt and textile museum in Liberty Station. While its focus is largely on art quilts, there have been other fiber art exhibits, including lace, knitting, and crochet. Find them on the web at VisionsArtMuseum.org.
The San Diego Museum of Art is offering a monthly lecture series to the Museum members and guests. The series includes fascinating lectures about art, artists, history of art etc. They are enlightening. educational, and often feature living artists and other great speakers. In times of pandemic, the Museum has shifted gears to the online presentations and would like to include as many community members as possible. The series kicked off on the 16th of October (it is the third Friday of the month at 10 am). The lectures are via Zoom, they are free but donations are always welcome. Check the San Diego Museum of Art’s website for details and for other virtual activities and events.
